Now before you label me as strange let me say that I am no mystic. Perhaps I'm a little too fond of using symbolic imagery and being overly dramatic but no mystic. I am much more analytical. However, I know that all my best efforts are dry without something inhabiting my work. Creative energy can move people, truly move them. That is something we cannot manufacture. I believe like many others do, that we pluck our ideas and creative energy from a universal quantum field. Like Walter Gropius (founder of Bauhaus) I have to admit that all we do is create and sometimes we are gifted with creating something extra-ordinary - something with energy beyond our making. This is a very loose paraphrase of one of his quotes but hopefully, you get the idea. All we can do as designers or artists is to refine and build our skills in making and creating. Hoping that in the process we can make a vessel worthy of that creative energy that transforms the mundane into the infinite.

I was saying that Moebius is one of these magician artists and 'The world of Edena' is on par with or perhaps even better than any 'holy book' - it has something that truly transcends the ordinary. Black Horse comics has recently released a hardcover volume of the first complete English translation and it is beautiful. If you choose to invest by purchasing a copy you will not be disappointed. Entranced reading will follow as the story of Stel and Atan's transfiguration unfolds. Moebius's ideas and clean line style have been revolutionary. Jean Giraud has been a huge influence on modern media and culture... many don't even know his work. Hopefully, more people will discover his fascinating worlds and characters.
